Kofi is a duly licensed Liberian tax practitioner. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners of the United States of America (As a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Fraud Investigator). Kofi is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ghana’s Professional Accounting and a Chartered Accountant in Ghana, and a member of the Liberia Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a Certified Public Accountant-Liberia. He has an Associate of Art, Bachelor of Art, and Master of Art in Business Administration (In Accounting) and a Master of Science in Finance.
Kofi’s Professional work experience spans over 25 years, including middle and senior-level accounting, auditing, and financial management positions with Non-Governmental organizations and private and public sector organizations.
Kofi is the Managing Partner of KFA Consults and the first Chairman of the LICPA’s Examination Committee; he was the first Head of Internal Audit at the Liberia Agency of Community Empowerment (LACE) from 2005 to 2009. In addition, he was the first Focal Point at the Ministry of Finance for the Department of Expenditure and Debt Management (2009 to 2012). Also, Kofi was the first Head of Finance at the newly established Liberia Revenue Authority. He held this high-profile public-service role from September 2014 to February 2017. In addition, Kofi was the lead consultant for the Tax, Reporting, and Advisory Service at Baker Tilly (Liberia).
Mr. Abedu-Bentsi is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the FINA Enterprise. A Liberian-owned business that provides a wide range of services, and goods, including petroleum and logistic.
Kofi is an accounting, taxation, and Public Sector Finance lecturer at Stella Maris Polytechnic University. He is also the Chairman of the Accounting Department of Stella Maris Polytechnic University. Kofi also lectures the LICPA professional classes. In addition, he has participated and facilitated over 75 workshops and conferences on private, not-for-profit, and public financial management in and out of Liberia.
